Garden Tour: A garden to celebrate the heritage and landscape of the Yorkshire - own county of God: a garden for Yorkshire was designed by Matthew Wilson for the Chelsea Flower Show 2016 sponsored by Welcome to Yorkshire. a key element of this garden is that Wilson described as a retreat or a garden refuge. It is fashioned to resemble the Great East Window of York Minster resting on its side. "It is made of arc and birch," says Wilson.
A combination of the old, traditional skills and state-of-the-technology Art has been used throughout this garden, and refuge is a good example of rapprochement. Wilson worked with artisans Yorkshire garden. The glass panels were created by York Glaziers Trust, and stone pinnacles were built by masons York Minster. "The garden of the building was created by the wood specialists in Barnsley," said Wilson, "and the bench in the garden hut was made by Robert 'Mousey' Thompson."

the upper level of the garden is planted with a pattern of wood, which includes shade-tolerant plants such as Alchemilla mollis euphorbia (including John Phillips' and 'Purpurea'), hostas, Dicentra 'Langtrees', and ferns, including Dryopteris erythrosora and Matteuccia struthiopteris .

turrets and walls of the garden of refuge were created using the stone cast made in Garforth near Leeds. "He has a similar appearance and texture of the stone used in the construction of the cathedral," said Wilson.

Planting in the Stained glass Bed varies in height to create layers of color and interest. Purple Salvia 'Caradonna' and 'Purple Rain' and Stipa grasses sway over the beds. South Sea 'Iris,' Deep Black 'and' Sultan 'also add height and exquisite details.
