Decorate your garden with small Alpine
If you like small, plants with delicate flowers that can sit at eye level or on the ground in groups, then a good way to start a container garden is planting Alpines.
You can use a sink or hollow to great effect as a container. First, make the base drainage holes, then fill it with compost soil base mixed with a little grain, plant your Alpines and finish with a generous layer of gravel or small gravel on top.
The larger containers are heavy, when completed, so make sure the website first before planting.
Alpines need good drainage and prefer a sunny location. Some varieties, like our native celandine, also grow in a habitat of wood and can be seen in hedgerows and verges of wood.
Alpines are relatively cheap to buy and the variety of colors available is endless. Choose from varieties of Dianthus, Helianthemum, saxifrage, yarrow, alyssum, aubretia, campanula, Erodium, gentiana, geranium and oxalis to name a few.

go for bold symmetry
for a classic look, and add a dramatic plot your key, use the same style and size pots in a row, in the same, strong color.
When placed along a fence and planted with the same variety of leakage from the plant, the corresponding containers immediately dress up a bland backdrop, as shown here, and add a wow factor to what could have been a very ordinary bed. Using the same plant adds to the elegance and creates a clean, no frills.
Unless you use a pair of pots on each side of a door, it is more effective to place the containers in groups of three or five years - odd numbers are always more pleasant to eye.

Growing up
A "green wall" vertical has become very popular in urban gardens. Although it is not technically container gardening, plants are maintained in small pockets, where they are fed and watered so that they grow and cover the wall.
You can grow plants and perennial ferns and evergreen on a wall as well as herbs, fruits and vegetables.
green walls could be considered the urban equivalent of a hedge, providing habitat for insects and reduce pollution.
If you intend to have a green wall, check which plants are suitable for the position of your wall. If you want to take care of yourself - a lot of companies that provide green walls also offer maintenance - you may need to replace some time plants in time, so if the planting is very high, make sure you regular scale [19459008!]

Making edible
growing edible plants in containers is relatively easy and seems surprising because these stylish pots RHS Chelsea Flower Show show.
Some vegetables have very large root systems, so choose a container that is deep and wide enough to accommodate and do not dry out. The use of small pots may cause a lack of moisture and nutrients to the plant roots, so go for a depth and a width of about 46cm.
Keep your vegetables and fruits well watered. Plants such as tomatoes are avid eaters and need a lot of water, so you will need to keep an eye on them if they are in containers.
There are many inventive planting you can do with fruits and vegetables. Try planting chives around the base standard bay trees - other edible crops look better planted with similar varieties or on their own. Blueberries look beautiful in pots, but are loving acid, so be sure to use ericaceous compost. fig trees, especially the variety Brown Turkey 'do well in pots too, as limiting root growth encourages fruiting.

Place a container stage
Making a statement on a patio planted by placing an oversized pot in the middle. This will not only add impact, but also create a central element of look - an effect similar to having a statue in the garden.
Use a variety of plant in your central pot for greater impact; blue flowers of sages in this garden combine well with the urn terracotta years.
Another trick that adds height and interest to a border is to snuggle large saucepan among other plants. This works well in high humidity and dark borders, where little grows and the region needs 'lifting' visually.

Tone down
Choosing plants for use in a small container garden can be difficult, especially if you want your space to look after himself, as much as possible.
The plants used in the balcony garden when has teamed with the soft wood planter year long, helping to make the most compact space. This is because the greens muted plants and subtle burgundy heuchera button does cry or jar the eye, but soften the whole area, making it appear to have more depth and space . Bright colors can stop eye and does not follow the flow of the plantation, so they can make a space look smaller. Use bright colors with caution in a small area, unless you really love the bold planting.

have herbs at your fingertips
If you enjoy cooking, what could be better than to have fresh herbs on hand? Herbs are perhaps the most rewarding potted plants and can easily be grown indoors or outdoors.
Growing herbs is also a good way to start a container garden. To keep healthy herbs in pots, pick up tips and feed regularly with liquid seaweed during growth. Rosemary, bay, thyme, sage, cilantro and sorrel grow especially well in containers. Basil needs warm sun if grown outside, and parsley will die after a few years once it has bloomed, you'll need to replant.
Plant herbs together or mix them with other plants in containers. Mint is actually best grown in a pot rather than in a bed of flowers because it tends to run and you will be forever cursed it - despite the good smell!

Introduce a single specimen
Use of an individual shrub in a container can add real impact on your space. Here, a soft-hued hydrangeas was used, which blends well with its glass jar to make a statement on the corner of a building.
If you choose hydrangeas, make sure you plant them in ericaceous compost as it is an acid-loving plant.
If you want a single plant pot that has a lot of flavor, try Daphne x transatlantica 'Eternal Fragrance', a compact plant that produces fragrant flowers from April to October.
